High Level Campaign Overview

Physical World (Description): The world is very much like our own except that it has superheroes, supervillains, and magic. Meta-humans (people with extraordinary powers and/or abilities) have been known to exist for the past hundred years or more and are a familiar part of society. Much of the published Champions material will be used, but not all of it will be used as it was written.

The largest difference, besides superpowered individuals, was the Change. The Change was the most dramatic event in human history. The mystic energies that were released in the climactic battle between the Red Skull and Earth’s heroes altered the very physical laws of our universe in some areas. Also called the Mystic Explosion of 1996, The Change had lasting effects that are still being evaluated to this day. The bolts that were thrown around the Earth made drastic changes wherever they landed from creating areas where technology just doesn’t work to strange lands appearing out of nowhere.

Hero Groups: There are several groups of superheroes that have banded together to fight injustice. Foremost among them are the Avengers. This group has been together in one form or another over the past 30 years. The Champions, from Millennium City, is also viewed as one of the Earth’s best hero groups.

Villain Groups: Oh yes, we have villain groups. Many of the groups are from published material along with many new ones. Anything goes here.

Hey! Wasn't That What's-his/her-name?: You may meet many characters that you will recognize from DC and Marvel comics. While the face, or costume, may seem familiar don't rely on your knowledge of their lives and adventures from the comics. I have "adapted" many of them into my campaign and given them their own continuity within the campaign. (That’s heroes and villains.)

Aliens: Extra-terrestrial life exists in abundance, the general populace of Earth is aware that it exists.

Magic: Magic is another thing that the public is aware of.
